Army Of 2 – Game Review

Army Of 2 – Game Review

Xbox 360/PS3

1-2 players, 2 online

8/10

A lack of good multiplayer games has lead to the release of EA’s Army Of Two. And the release has been even more hyped then it most games, due to it being delayed. This game has a lot to be proud of, not many have been able to create such an excellent game in a multiplayer format. For the next release however, EA shall have to concentrate more on the time and pace of the game, there is much to be improved in that section.

The game itself is much like Gears Of War in Co-op mode, however EA has thought up an excellent concept. The more a player attacks an enemy the more the player gets ‘aggro’. The more ‘aggro’ a player gets, the brighter they shine, and they start emitting a red glow. This distracts the enemies, allowing the other player to sneak past unnoticed.

The game is different from others also in that many fancy or special moves require the co-operation of both players. You will get the most out of Army Of Two if you have a buddy playing with you, due to this multiplayer concentration. The game is fairly decent with an automated or ‘computer’ partner however.

This game is largely taken down on one front however. The game’s length and somewhat linear play. It has a very short duration, even for a game of this type and the play has no real user control, you must do what the storyline offers.

Overall however, an excellent attempt at a currently very dismal multiplayer game market, and an excellent buy for those looking for some fun with a mate.

Enjoy!
