KaneBT Taskbar & Start Menu Remover

KaneBT Technologies’ KaneBT Taskbar & Start Menu Remover 1.1 is a great utility which will simply and efficiently remove the taskbar & start menu from Windows XP or Vista. The program will disable the taskbar, start menu and Windows key on the keyboard.

KaneBT Taskbar & Start Menu Remover is the only program of its kind which will disable these aspects of Windows while maintaining this level of efficiency, effectiveness and overall stability of the Windows system.

The program automatically starts with windows, making it a very simple and easy way to remove the taskbar and start menu.

Enjoy!

    Great utility!

I use it with RocketDock as it has no ‘hide taskbar function’.

    Anyway,
Im sure this is a very strange request, however would KaneBT Technologies be interested in makeing an ‘iPhone emulator’ for Windows?
There doesnt seem to be such a thing yet!
I would be most grateful and Im sure there would be many people like me wanting to see such a thing.

    Thanks Anyway!

@TecherBoyJoe: Yes, I must say it is a rather strange request, however I’ll look into it for you.

    Thanks!

Great software…thanks. Is there a quick way (key board shortcut) to toggle the task bar….hide and unhide?

  6. kanebt Says:

    hey MF

there isnt currently a keyboard shortcut to do so. Hopefully there will be in a new version, check here for updates!

    Thanks.

Hey I wanted you to know of a workaround of your program that you might want to look into. If you’re on the desktop and hold Ctrl then push F6 it will highlight the start button (though you can’t see it) and as soon as you hit a button like enter or spacebar it will bring up the start menu…
Great program though, aside from this one hole. Thanks!

Ok, I ran this on my Vista…

My one question is: how do I return the start menu/taskbar (how do I get them back)?

Yeah, the answers prolly pretty simple but I just can’t seem to find it. When I tried running the .exe file again it says, “An older instance of this script is already running, replace it with this instance? To avoid this message see #SingleInstance in the help file.

If it helps, I’m also running RocketDock and Switcher on this thing…

    Thanks.

    Hey

@Chris: Thanks, Ill look into that..

@…: To bring back the taskbar just close explorer.exe (via the task manager) and open it again. Your taskbar will be back until the next restart.
If you want to disable it at startup, you can uninstall the program or use something like CCleaner to stop it starting with Windows.
Im currently working on a shortcut key to toggle the taskbar on and off. :) Check for updates here!

This program works great, except that disabling the Win key also disables all of the win shortcuts (Win-E, Win-R, etc.), including the shortcut I like to use for Launchy (Win-Space). It’d be great if there was an option to hide the taskbar, but keep the windows key.

    Thanks!

How do I make the toolbar reappear?

  12. Marcus Says:

Love the program. Just learning to enjoy modding my desktop. I am with bk, it would be great if there were an option to just hide the taskbar, but keep all the shortcuts.

Even the way it is, it’s a great little program.

How do I remove this utility?

Document Flip is one of the nice features Vista has over previous versions of windows, and the disabling of the Win key renders it impossible (Win+Tab), unless you’ve got the document flip shortcut visible at all times. in future releases, the Win key should still be usable as a shortcut button. Since there isn’t a taskbar, there’s no way to quickly get through all of the windows you have open without minimizing all of them until you get to the window you want.

  15. R3T Says:

I agree. The windows key is essential for shortcuts. You should just remove the start menu shortcut when it is pressed alone.

Sometimes the start button still pops out!
